Privacy Policy

TabiTalk is an iPhone travel translation app. No account is required. On first use of cloud features the app creates a random install identifier (stored in the iPhone Keychain) that our server uses only to meter cloud time and passes; it contains no name, email, phone number or location.

Audio: speech is converted to text by Apple Speech, on device when supported or by Apple’s service otherwise. TabiTalk never uploads or stores your recordings.

Translation and AI suggestions: recognised text, sentences you type, and text recognised from photos are relayed through our server to OpenAI for translation and returned to you. Our server does not store this content. OpenAI may retain API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and does not use it for training. Offline, the app falls back to Apple’s on-device translation.

Photos: text recognition runs on device with Apple Vision; photos are not uploaded, only the recognised text is translated.

On your iPhone: settings, favourites and transcripts you choose to save stay on the device and can be deleted in the app.

On our server: the install identifier, cloud usage seconds, daily AI usage counts and, for purchases, Apple transaction IDs and expiry dates — used for metering, abuse prevention and restoring purchases. No translation content.

Purchases are processed by Apple; we never receive card details. Signed Apple transactions are verified by our server to grant cloud minutes.

No ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking. To delete server records, email [email protected]; we respond within 30 days.
