Picsy: Photo & Video Memories · Last updated October 5, 2026
Picsy is an iPhone and iPad app for making photo collages and memory videos. This policy explains how the current version handles your media and creations.
Photos and videos
The photos, Live Photos, videos and creations you choose are processed on your device. Picsy does not send your media to our servers. Local copies of imported media, text and layout settings are stored in the app’s storage. When you choose media stored in iCloud Photos, Apple’s system services may download the original files.
Photo library access
You can pick specific items with Apple’s system photo picker, or allow Picsy to read all or part of your library. When saving a creation, Picsy asks for permission to add to Photos. You can change or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings.
Memories gathered for you
With library access, Picsy reads the capture dates, media types and existing location metadata of photos and videos on your device to suggest this month, On This Day, trips and recent days, skipping creations Picsy saved to Photos. This information is used only on your device and is never uploaded.
People and places
Face positions are detected on your device by Apple Vision to arrange and crop photos; Picsy does not identify who anyone is. Capture dates and existing location metadata may be used for month and trip suggestions. The app never requests your current location and never uploads this information.
Memory reminders
You can turn on monthly or weekly memory reminders. They are local notifications scheduled by iOS on your device and do not pass through our servers. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Backup and restore
“Export Full Backup” packages all creations and imported media into a single backup file and hands it to the location you choose through the iOS share sheet (for example Files or iCloud Drive). The backup file is not encrypted, and where it is stored and how it is handled is up to you and that service. When restoring, the app reads only the backup file you select and adds creations you don’t already have without overwriting existing ones.
Accounts, tracking and third parties
The current version requires no account and has no ads, analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking. The app does not collect your personal data.
In-app purchases
Picsy Pro (monthly subscription or lifetime purchase) is optional. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by the Apple App Store. Users who previously bought “Support Moments · Lifetime Upgrade” keep its benefits. Picsy reads and verifies your Apple entitlements on the device to unlock the matching features; it never receives card details and never uploads transactions, photos or creations to our servers. Loading prices, purchasing and restoring purchases require connecting to Apple’s services, and Apple’s privacy policy and terms apply.
Sharing
Exported files are handed to another service or app through the iOS share sheet only when you choose to share them. That service’s privacy policy then applies.
Retention and removal
You can remove a creation’s record; outputs already saved to Photos are not deleted. Imported local media stays in the app for reuse. Deleting the app removes its local creations and media; save outputs to Photos or export a backup first if you want to keep them. iOS device backups and Photos cloud sync are controlled by you and Apple’s settings.
